IP video smart cameras are getting faster and more powerful every day. The newest crop of processors has produced a generation of cameras capable of a wide range of video analytic activities. Aureus 3D is uniquely suited to be integrated with these cameras, providing enhanced identification and situational awareness to your biometric security systems.
Segment a face in a video frame.
Motion detection, dynamic masking, object/shape recognition and tamper detection have become commonly expected packages within cameras, and Aureus 3D’s ability to detect faces, track people, and match faces to a database has been designed with this in mind. Camera manufacturers can add these analytic capabilities to the cameras themselves instead of relying on processing imagery elsewhere in a facility.
Depending upon the processor and storage capacity within the camera, manufacturers can build in analytics which will segment a face in a video frame, create an FR template and even match the template to an onboard gallery of faces. And because the Aureus 3D facial template is only 256 bytes, a database of 1 million faces will easily reside on the camera. Aureus 3D even has an ‘Area of Interest’ feature which provides the face location within a frame. This information, when fed to PTZ cameras, will allow the camera to follow specific subjects of interest throughout a scene.
